Gympie is a university town and USC Gympie is your local university.

In fact, the gold city has been a university town for three years and we celebrated the success of our first graduates this year.

Still, the city as a whole needs help to undertake a paradigm shift to see itself this way.

That’s why events like the upcoming Meet USC Gympie, on Thursday June 30, give us a great way to talk about study options available to Gympie’s residents – of any age.

This is a drop in session from 1-4pm at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s state-of-the-art Gympie campus at 71 Cartwright Road, Gympie.

At Meet USC you can:

  • Chat about your preferred degree
  • Take a campus tour
  • Talk to staff about how to apply, fees and scholarships
  • Attend our special presentation ‘What to Expect Next’

We know there is demand for tertiary education across all sectors, not simply school leavers, by the number of applications we receive. These can be from adults returning to work after raising their families, or those wishing to upskill within their current roles or totally change their careers.

USC Gympie offers full degree programs in: Business, Commerce (accounting), Education (early childhood), Nursing and Primary education.

We have expanded the offerings to include a selection of first year courses from the following degree programs: Arts, Counselling, Engineering (civil/honours and mechanical/honours), Human services, Science, Social science, Social science (psychology) and Social work.

Learners are at the centre of our learning and teaching practice. As a result USC is the only public University in Queensland to earn five stars for teaching quality in the Good Universities Guide annually since 2007.
