The 2017 Gympie Regional Australia Day Awards recognise our region’s unsung heroes and pay tribute to the special people in our community who have gone above and beyond to help improve the lives of others and contribute to the city’s vision of a diverse, friendly and strong community.
Nominations for the 2017 awards are now open and can be found at www.gympie.qld.gov.au before 4pm on Friday 9 December 2016. These awards are for the person or organisation that you believe has made an outstanding contribution to the Gympie Region. Nominate today and tell us why you think they are deserving of an Australia Day Award.
The award categories are:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Community Event of the Year
• Cultural Award
• Youth Cultural Award
• Sports Administration Award
• Youth Sports Award

The awards will be announced at the Australia Day Celebrations at 10am on Thursday 26 January 2017 at the Gympie Civic Centre and everyone is welcome.
